Soft Locked During Competition — XI-Box Current Reports
Status: Developer acknowledged / Player reported · checked September 7. Separate the final-story delivery-box soft lock from the XI-box restart bug. The former has a developer reply saying it will be investigated; the XI-box screw and drive behavior remains a current player report with conflicting retries.
| Problem | Status | Evidence to capture |
|---|---|---|
| Invisible outline or cardboard-box state near the final story beat | Developer acknowledged; not confirmed fixed | Delivery box, task counter, build, and protected save |
| XI-box screw or drive becomes unselectable after failure | Player reported / Watching | First attempt versus restarted attempt and the last valid layer |
| Fresh challenge box bypasses the old one | Reported workaround, not a repair | Whether the old box remains and what the new box changes |
Competition progress tracker: one row per device
Legend of Akiba needs one confirmed assembly-competition win for every available device, not repeated wins on a familiar model. Use the tracker on this page to record participation, a win, and an optional best time. It is saved only in this browser and shared with the Akiba Championship page.
How to enter a competition
Advance the shop and competition storyline until an event prompt becomes available, then read the event card before committing. Confirm the named device, any license or progression gate, and the inventory you will take in. There is no safe universal shortcut that unlocks every event immediately. If an event is absent, finish open story or customer work and revisit the competition interface rather than purchasing every license at random.
Entry checklist
Make the event a controlled run, not a blind test.
- Install the latest patch
- Create a pre-entry save
- Read the target model exactly
- Practice one ordinary rebuild of that model
- Keep customer and donor parts out of the event loadout
- Confirm cash remains for bills and accepted orders
- Capture the event result before leaving
The five-pass assembly routine
Sort first, then build inside-out. This routine minimizes corrections.
| Pass | Action | Ready when |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Inventory | Group board, controls, cables, covers, and fasteners | Every required family is visible |
| 2. Core | Seat the deepest board or mechanism | Orientation and mounts align |
| 3. Controls | Place buttons, sticks, switches, and cables | No lead is trapped or floating |
| 4. Shell | Close shields and covers | The case meets without force |
| 5. Fasteners | Return screws by recorded layer | The task tracker completes |
How scoring improves
The game communicates success through the event and task interface; public official pages do not provide a complete scoring formula. In practice, improve the variables you can control: correct first placement, fewer backtracks, a stable camera angle, and no missing layer. Do not sacrifice accuracy for rapid clicking. One upside-down control or premature shell closure costs more than a deliberate pause.
How to beat Aoyama
Prepare for Takumi as a device test, not a dialogue puzzle. Identify the target model, rehearse its dependency chain, and decide your placement order before entering. During the run, follow the same inside-out sequence used in practice. If you lose, write down the first correction that consumed time—wrong orientation, trapped cable, missing underlying part, early cover, or overlooked screw—and drill only that transition.
Akiba Championship progression
Treat the Akiba Championship as part of the wider competition chain. A lower-level competition result, device familiarity, and story progression can matter independently; the current event prompt is the authority for what is still missing. Use the dedicated championship page for route-specific notes and keep ordinary assembly achievements separate from claims about championship rewards.
Rewards, devices, and unlocks
Reward and device pools can differ by event and build, so record what the result screen actually awards. A useful note contains event name, target model, placement, reward, newly unlocked item, and game version. Do not copy a currency amount from a launch-week run without reproducing it. Steam's public achievement list confirms milestones for winning one competition, competing with multiple devices, and covering the device set; it does not define every event payout.
Patch and inventory status
Update before using an old workaround. Patch 1.0.009r addressed competition inventory problems, while 1.0.010r fixed a blocker involving missing screws inside a device. If stock still disappears, reload the protected pre-entry save, compare inventory before and after entry, record the target model and build, and reproduce once. Do not rebuy an entire loadout until the items are also absent outside the event.
Current Competition Problems — Post 1.0.015 · Checked September 3
Keep current player reports separate from problems that official patch 1.0.013r already addressed. A report tied to one device, restart state or save does not prove that every competition is broken. Preserve the pre-entry save and record the device, build, failed placement and result screen before retrying.
| Problem | Status | Safe evidence check |
|---|---|---|
| Tape Recorder parts do not snap and nearby pieces detach | Player reported after 1.0.015 | Capture the correct part, target position and first failed snap |
| XI-Box motherboard screw point deactivates after restarting the event | Reproduced three times by one player | Preserve the first-run save; record the lower-left screw point before and after restart |
| Second competition device does not appear | Player reported | Finish the prior result screen and record the next competition-app state |
| Competition does not trigger | Player reported | Record requirements, pending story work and current app state |
| XI-Box and IDB ThinkerDad competition bugs | Officially addressed in 1.0.013r | Treat as historical patch scope; a later symptom needs a new reproduction |
| Assembly Challenge soft-lock after a failed placement or restart | Player reported / Watching | Preserve the pre-entry save; capture device, part, timer and result state |
Post-run review
Save the result, then review one failure at a time. Distinguish a knowledge error from a build issue: a repeatable missing screw on the newest patch belongs in a bug report, while a cover blocked by an unseated cable belongs in practice. This small review loop turns each event into device knowledge and is more valuable than memorizing frantic clicks.
Known Soft Lock Before the Final Story Beat
Status: Developer acknowledged / Investigating. A current report warns that leaving an unfinished Assembly Challenge box in the green delivery box when the final story beat passes can produce an invisible assembly outline or cardboard-box state. The reporter completed Palaloid but became stuck at the Nony PlayMachine screws; a developer replied that the team would investigate. This is not confirmed fixed.
- Finish or remove active Assembly Challenge boxes before crossing the final story beat
- Keep a manual save before the late-story transition
- Do not discard customer or competition parts
- Capture the green delivery box, invisible outline, task counter and build
- If reproduced, stop before overwriting the checkpoint and submit the evidence
