Quick answer: the Kaito route
After the final tournament win, keep a separate save. When Kaito asks what comes next, ask about his plans and offer him a place to stay. Complete his follow-up requests; the last documented task centers on the watch. The Ronin achievement is tied to finishing Kaito's story branch.

Story progress can depend on a completed repair, a To-Do, and the next conversation. Check all three before treating a quiet shop as a softlock.

Use one rotating save before the post-tournament conversation and a second save before the invitation. Do not overwrite both after accepting. Character invitations can compete for later scenes, so one clean branch is safer than trying to repair a mixed route hours later.
- Finish the last available tournament
- Save before speaking to Kaito
- Ask what he plans to do next
- Offer him a place to stay
- Keep the pre-invitation save until Ronin unlocks
Complete Kaito's follow-up chain
Continue his requests in the order the game presents them. Do not skip days merely to force the next scene: finish active shop work, check messages and return to Kaito when the game supplies the callback. Community route records identify the watch as the final request, but the live quest log remains the authority for your build.
Why other invitations can break the attempt
Current achievement guides treat Kaito, Haruhi and Baketsu as mutually competing invitation branches. For Ronin, do not invite Haruhi or Baketsu on the Kaito save. This is a route-management rule, not a claim that those characters can never appear in the same wider playthrough.

Orders begin at the counter. Read the request, then check the To-Do list before deciding that progress is blocked.

First verify that Kaito's final request is complete and that Steam is online. Then load the checkpoint before the invitation and replay only this branch. If it still fails on 1.0.013r, record the build, final quest state, invitation choice and achievement status before reporting it.
| Check | What to verify |
|---|---|
| Branch | Kaito invited; Haruhi and Baketsu not invited |
| Requests | Every Kaito callback completed, including the watch task |
| Build | Current patch shown on the main menu |
| Steam | Online and achievement overlay available |
| Retry | Replay from the pre-invitation checkpoint |
Evidence boundary
The Ronin condition and invitation conflict are documented by current community achievement guides and a focused Steam discussion. Exact scene timing can vary with open orders and story state. This page therefore gives a safe route and checkpoints without inventing dialogue that the sources do not show.
Kaito route FAQ
Do I need to beat every competition record? No; the route evidence points to the story and invitation, not record times. Can I invite Haruhi too? Use a separate save if you want both outcomes. When should I reload? Reload the pre-invitation save if another invitation was accepted or the final Kaito callback never appears.

Official information, observable release behavior, and community reports are deliberately separated. A community report is not presented as a universal fix until it can be reproduced or supported by current patch notes.
