Checkpoint A — before the trust dialogue
Save before returning the Tourist-related repair that leads into Haruhi's trust conversation. Read the hand-in dialogue and choose the answer telling Haruhi not to trust anyone else. This early condition cannot be repaired by reloading only at the final invitation.
Finish the Haruhi follow-ups
Continue the connected Tourist work and Haruhi conversations until her story has clearly advanced. Do not rush unrelated days simply because the next scene is not immediate: check email, phone, room interactions, and unfinished repair tickets first. Preserve the post-dialogue save separately.
Checkpoint B — the exclusive invitation
Make a second save after Haruhi's story is complete but before inviting anyone to stay. Invite Haruhi on this branch and do not invite Baketsu or Kaito. Continue until Steam records Melancholy; do not overwrite Checkpoint A until the unlock is confirmed.
If Melancholy does not unlock
First reload Checkpoint B and verify that every Haruhi follow-up finished before the invitation. If it still fails, return to Checkpoint A and repeat the Tourist hand-in and trust response. Keep Steam online, let the full scene finish, and check the current achievement list before starting a new campaign.
